Argyll The Isles Locomand

Considered by many to be one of the most breathtaking parts of Scotland, Argyll and the Isles have a rich and ancient history. Although not as mountainous as the Highlands, the landscape affords stunning views across its lakes, islands, peninsulas, and out to the Atlantic Ocean. Owing to a number of sea lochs, the area has a great deal of coastline, and one of the traditional industries is fishing. The beautiful landscape has made the area attractive to writers, artists and musicians including William McTaggart, Naomi Mitchison, George Orwell and Sir Paul McCartney.
