Keith Haring 1984
  • Artist Rooms
Along with Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring was the leading artist of the graffiti art movement which flourished in New York in the 1980s. Haring’s geeky, schoolboy ingénu look belied his savvy knowledge of the media. Mapplethorpe has captured this mixture of faux innocent and knowing art practitioner in this portrait.
