Daniela Nardini is from the Ayrshire town of Largs where her parents ran the well-known ice-cream parlour and restaurant. Daniela, however, rather than joining the family business, wanted to be an actress and went to study at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) in Glasgow. Her career was launched in 1996 when she landed a role in ‘This Life’ for which she won a BAFTA actress award in 1998. Since then she has starred in numerous TV shows including the comedy-drama ‘New Town’ (2009), set in Edinburgh. Nardini has also worked in theatre. This photograph with its strong tonal contrasts hints to Nardini’s Italian ancestry.
