In this photograph Mrs King poses in front of her catch - seven salmon, a sea trout and a grilse - the result of an angling excursion in Norway. All nine fish were caught in the space of six hours ?by casting, on flies tied by herself?. Her exploits were reported as a ?capital day?s sport? in an article which brought attention to ?the interesting topic of the success that has attended ladies wielding rod and line?. Mrs King?s ?series of battles? resulted in a combined catch of 149 lbs.
