Untitled Fashion Shot, London Photographed about 1940
Throughout her life Tudor-Hart struggled to make a living as a photographer and never built an elaborate portrait studio. She received portrait commissions through her extensive network of contacts and friends (including exile circles) and sold photographs to a wide selection of newspapers and journals. She also attempted some fashion photography, including this rather chilling image taken for a shoot about wartime fashions. Evidently Tudor-Hart was more comfortable portraying her subjects in their own environment.
