Andrea Soldi (Italian (Florentine), about 1703 - 1771)
Andrea Soldi was born in Florence. Although there is little information about the early part of his life, he came to London around 1736 after previously being in the Middle East. The years of 1738 to 1744 were the most successful of his career, when he received patronage from nobility. However due to his extravagance, Soldi spent time in a debtor's prison in 1744. Soldi may have worked in Scotland from 1756 to 1757.
