Cupid about 1615 - 1620

On Display Scottish National Gallery

This is a fragment that originally formed the lower right portion of a larger picture, one of Procaccini’s rare secular works. The handling of the paint shows the influence of Rubens, whose works Procaccini had studied in Genoa. The quiver and draperies behind were added by a later hand.
