Wealth is Shared - No One Charges, No One Pays
2000
- Scottish Art
This is the left-hand panel of a triptych. It shows a wealthy home-owner and a group of children burying the key to the man's house. This signifies his abandonment of personal property: he has let other people move into his large house, seen in the background. His garden is being carefully converted to grow food while in the background other people are making cars into something more useful. The scene illustrates the concept of wealth being shared equally, and suggests that a much more pleasant society could be created in this way.
