Larger than most of his works, this painting depicts luxurious objects such as a lobster, a delicate Venetian wine glass, a Chinese Ming porcelain jug with a Dutch tin lid, and a gold covered cup. This painting used to be attributed to Jan Davidsz de Heem, until the signature of Luttichuys was discovered on the rim of the larger plate.
