Grand Trunk Railway: Snowplough near Black River Station, Levis, Quebec February 1869
  • Scottish Art
Scottish-born Alexander Henderson was much struck with the beauty and drama of Canadian weather, from the abundant floods in spring to the deep snow in winter. In his photographs, he was able to capture the subtleties of the light-filled air. Here the train pauses to build up steam and power before making its way through a snow drift.
