Rev. James Graham of Fereneze (Scottish, 1806 - 1869)
The Revd James Graham was the youngest son of James Graham of Fereneze and succeeded to part of the family estates in Renfrewshire. This presumably gave him the means to travel through Italy and to the Holy Land, taking photographs. He became the honorary secretary of the Anglican Mission in Jerusalem in the mid-1850s and is described as living in a lonely tower on the Mount of Olives, where he entertained the Pre-Raphaelite painters, Thomas Seddon and William Holman Hunt.
