Allan Massie is one of Scotland’s most renowned journalists on political, sporting and literary matters. Born in Singapore, Massie grew up in Aberdeenshire before studying history at Trinity College, Cambridge. History has remained his great passion with many of his best selling books biographies of ancient Romans such as Augustus, Caesar, Anthony and Caligula. He has written trilogy of novels which begin in Vichy France with A Question of Loyalties. He has also written several non-fiction books including geographical portraits of Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Massie has reviewed fiction for ‘The Scotsman’ for over twenty-five years and he writes regular columns for ‘The Sunday Times’ (Scottish edition), ‘Scottish Daily Mail’ as well as ‘The Scotsman’.
