The Highland Council will be hosting a special exhibition of works by the celebrated American photographer Robert Mapplethorpe at Inverness Museum & Art Gallery.

The group of photographs in the ARTIST ROOMS collection is probably the best collection in the world of the artist’s work after the group at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.

The selection focuses on Mapplethorpe’s portraits - many depicting the most influential artists, writers and musicians of his day including Andy Warhol, Truman Capote and Patti Smith - and his iconic self-portraits.
