This is a poster for a 1982 exhibition at New York?s City Gallery which included work by Warhol. He was one of 27 artists and photographers who came together to create four portfolios, with the aim to assist in the transformation of the Second Avenue Courthouse building into the new home of the Anthology Film Archives. Established in 1970, it was the first museum dedicated to avant-garde film and video. This was understandably a cause close to Warhol?s heart ever since his experimental film days in the 1960s. It may have influenced his decision to donate his original films to The Museum of Modern Art for cataloguing and storage, in collaboration with The Whitney Museum of American Art.
