Harry More Gordon (English, born 1928)
A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, Harry More Gordon did not take up portraiture until the late 1960s. During the 1950s More Gordon worked as an art editor and graphic artist on glossy London magazines. He then returned to Edinburgh and taught illustration at the College of Art for twenty-five years. More recently he has undertaken some ambitious commissions such as the group portrait of the former Scottish Secretaries for the Scottish National Portrait Gallery (1999). More Gordon lives and paints in Inveresk, near Edinburgh.
