The National Galleries of Scotland employs more than 300 staff in a variety of roles. Visitors may be most familiar with those working in security and visitor services or retail. There are however many other positions such as curators, art handlers, and IT and marketing professionals.

All employees of the Galleries, regardless of their area of expertise, play an important part in ensuring the smooth running of the organisation and help us to maintain our reputation as one of the world’s leading cultural institutions.

Art Handling Technician (Full-time Temporary 4 months)

ART HANDLING TECHNICIAN
(FULL-TIME, TEMPORARY 4 MONTHS)
Salary: £15,935 - £18,919 per annum pro-rata

Our Art Handling Technicians move, pack and install some of the most beautiful and important art objects in the country. When not working with our magnificent permanent collection, they are installing national and international exhibitions in our gallery spaces, sometimes working with the artists themselves and always acting as ambassadors for the National Galleries of Scotland.

To join this team, you must have experience in the safe handling of fine art objects. An ability to work to tight schedules and proven skills and experience in the installation of fine art displays are essential.
