We are looking for a talented administrator to work as part of a small and dynamic team within a creative environment. Providing first-class administrative support for the Education team which works across five galleries, you will be highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload. With a flexible approach and friendly outgoing manner you will be the first point of contact for telephone enquiries, and responsible for maintaining and administering booking systems.
Excellent computer skills are essential and you should have prior experience of financial record keeping. An interest in and enthusiasm for education and the visual arts would be highly advantageous.

The Role
• Deliver a comprehensive HR framework to ensure all staff are equipped to and supported in achieving our strategic business outcomes. This will include OD and Learning & Development; particular focus being an improved appraisal system and management development programmes.
• As a role model and mentor for the HR team, you will design and lead the move from a transaction-focused employee centric HR function to being one that is strategically focused and supports cultural change across the organisation.

The Person
• A self-motivated and visionary HR generalist, bringing a significant track record in strategic and operational HR leadership in both the private and public sectors.
• With demonstrable problem-solving experience and highly influential communication skills, the proven ability to identify and effect change is paramount.
• CIPD qualified, you will bring comprehensive experience across the full HR spectrum, with some experience ideally gained in a unionised environment.

JOINT WORKING PROGRAMME AND PROJECT MANAGER
Fixed-term appointment for 2 years £47,212 pa (under review from 1 August 2008)
The National Library of Scotland, National Galleries of Scotland and National Museums Scotland together form a group of National Collections Institutions (NCIs) that have been developing a programme of collaborative work aimed at achieving efficiencies through joint working/shared services.
We are now in a position to offer an exciting and challenging opportunity for a highly motivated individual to assist the Chief Executive to develop an innovative programme to maximise the potential efficiencies achievable through joint working.
This will involve: providing analysis, advice and guidance on risks and benefits of shared services projects; liaising with relevant stakeholders from the NCIs to formulate aims and objectives; developing and leading the preparation and implementation of all aspects of a shared services programme and managing the progress of the programme and projects to ensure targets and objectives are achieved.
Strong analytical abilities are required together with demonstrable project/programme management skills and experience. Knowledge of the shared service agenda within the public sector and a full understanding of shared service models is essential. Experience of implementing and or managing major change initiatives would be advantageous.
We are looking for someone who can generate enthusiasm and commitment across the three organizations for developing imaginative and radical solutions that will deliver real benefits.
